Dr. Rosenberg has been involved in meditation research since 2000. This is one of her most satisfying areas of work, as it integrates her background in emotion research, behavioral measurement, and meditation practice and teaching.
Shamatha Project, at the Center for Mind and Brain at UC Davis. The Shamatha Project is the largest, most comprehensive study to date on the effects of intensive meditation training. This randomized, controlled trial of the effects of intensive meditation practice examines studying effects of meditation on elemental processes such as attention, emotional functioning, and physiology. We completed data collection on two retreats and several follow-ups, and are currently in data analytic and report writing mode.
