Tonglen Intensive - March 2026 Class #2

Part 2 of Dr. Rosenberg’s live, online 2-session Tonglen Intensive. This 2-session online intensive offers a deep-dive into the active compassion practice of Tonglen. Tonglen is a powerful practice that helps us learn to be present with the suffering in ourselves and others and envision ways to transform that suffering into ease. We do this by being willing to be present and to use our strength in staying to build a willingness to help. Our immersion into Tonglen deconstructs the practice and demystifies it, with an eye toward envisioning what is possible when we learn to stay with whatever arises in life. Offered through Compassion Institute. Registration is for both sessions, March 4 and March 11.

The 2-session, 4-hour Tonglen Intensive course is open to experienced meditation practitioners, CCT alumni, Certified CCT instructors, and not recommended for new practitioners.

In the brief video below, Dr. Rosenberg addresses some key questions about Tonglen — including the inner strength that it requires but also builds, how it changes our relationship with suffering, and what to expect from the 2-session course.
